<Narration / Backstory>

Katalixi grew up in a remote hamlet, found along coastal mountains. She lived there with her Auri mother Mirias, while her elven father Katavallo was away for many months at a time working. Katalixi often isolated herself to study arcane texts and martial forms, since the other children bullied her for her auri features; her scales, horns, and tail.Katalixi remembers leaving home as a young adult to find her father, who had been missing for months longer than usual. This she did despite her mother's urging to stay indoors, and her memory of the journey becomes hazy as a freezing, starless night sky came over the land...Awakening as if from a nightmare, she found herself in a hollow Gridanian tree on a morning thick with fog and mist. Atop her head now sat a dimly glowing halo, and she struggled to recall the steps that lead her here. She carried on, intent on finding her missing father and proving herself to her mother.Since being sent to the Source, she has been met with trials and enemies... gained, and lost, friends and lovers. She has taken up intense study of aetherology in Old Sharlayan, and regularly works with the Confluence Aethernet Team in Sharlayan. Katalixi is responsible for the spellcraft development of experimental aethernet systems and for the maintenance of aethernets in several major cities.Though she has learned of the existence of Shards and Rejoinings, she firmly denies any possibility of a connection to the Void. Yet, her halo flickers dramatically when the Void is mentioned. She sought to refine her portal spellcraft, so that she can open a Gate between worlds- so that she can finally return home.As time has went on, she has continued her mastery of portal magic. Katalixi spent years honing her spellcraft and searching for leads on ways to travel between worlds. This self-imposed quest lead her to create a project to explore the deepest trenches of the Indigo Deep, to the west of Vylbrand. After securing a contract with Ironworks to test an experimental magitek submarine, she and her expedition team consisting of her friends and some experts discovered ancient ruins on the sea floor of vast scale.This was a place nearer to the heart of the star than anywhere else Katalixi had been; a place where innumerable leylines converged and the Veil of the Rift thinned from the sheer flow of the Lifestream. Working in secret with a few other experts and moons spent working tirelessly on a ritual to open an inter-planar portal, Katalixi... succeeded, at a cost. The tear in the Rift consumed Katalixi, her lover, and expert friends... sending them scattered across time and space, to the First. Having aimed for home but arriving now clearly in the wrong world, she seeks to reunite with her allies as the reappear across the land seek a way to return herself and her allies to the Source. The Cycle continues, as Katalixi is stranded in a strange new world, and finds her soul struggling more and more.

  • Sharp-eyed folk may notice constant spatial distortions near her fingertips.

  • Regularly provides aetheric maintenance to popular aethernets, primarily: Sharlayan, Kugane, Ul'dah, and experimental (Yedlihmad/Thavnair).

  • Offers unique services: teleportation to unattuned aetherytes (limited list).

  • Runs a Spellgem shop (spell-charged limited-use crystals), located in Ishgard.

  • Works in Sharlayan on the Confluence Aethernet Team as Head of Spellcraft.

  • Responsible for the spellcraft that imbued the experimental Yedlihmad Aetheryte.

  • Lived on the Source for a few years, much info she mentions is from the 13th Shard.

  • Her body regularly exchanges aether with her halo. The constant flow is noticeable to those with aethersight.

  • She circumstantially leaks or absorbs aether from her surrounding environment. This is unusual, and potentially dangerous.

  • The auracite halo usually has an extremely dense aethercharge.

  • Her body is not aetherically balanced- most often manifesting as a slight umbral-water aspect imbalance.

  • Aethersight combined with advanced training may show strange disruptions in her memory-aether.

  • Her soul is shrouded dark mist; two souls appear to those with soulsight.

Here are some extra notes to set expectations for RP:I enjoy a mixture of RP genres.
I prefer having frequent friendly comedic/slice-of-life scenes punctuated by dark/combative or highly emotional scenes now and then. I enjoy long-term romantic and erotic themes (F/F), but only after the characters have a deeper connection. Do not ask for random ERP; Katalixi is taken.I prefer to stay lore-adherent to FF14 canon when possible, but I don't mind some lore-bending. This character is based in canon, but Kat does have her own lore-bendy aspects.I enjoy immersive RP with recurring characters. I prefer a mix of 1-to-1 and group RP when possible and appropriate. Character development and story arcs is a big focus of mine; I've been roleplaying Kat for hundreds of hours, and she has a long and intense history that only keeps getting more complex.Please use 3rd-person perspective.
I've had issues with people mixing out-of-character and in-character. Recognize that getting to know Kat does not mean you know me, and vice-versa. Regardless, I am not my character.I am willing to do Discord RP but I highly prefer in-game FF14 RP.
